It is a cosmopolitan knowledge that AIDS is only one of the
incurable dreadful diseases in the world today. This is one harsh reality that all of us must face and accept no matter how hard it is. But, one sad reality concerning AIDS that is indeed hard to accept is when many people link even worst blame homosexuals as the main source of this widespread world problem.
I know for a fact that homosexuality is a matter of choice. One chooses to be a homosexual, though the choice has a genetics or
environmental basis. Contrary to the common notion that being homosexual is a disease which is contagious and has to be cured, it is neither a disease nor is it contagious. That is why it is very illogical and unfair for people to blame homosexuals for the prevalence of AIDS.
AIDS, on the other hand, is generally perceived to be transmitted or acquired in three various ways. The first way is when a person has sexual intercourse with an infected person. The second is through blood transfusion using a needle that is infected and lastly, an infected mother transmitting the disease to her infant inside her womb. Therefore, considering these three ways as safety precautions, AIDS can at least be prevented if not eradicated. However, homosexuals who have multiple sex partners are likewise vulnerable to the disease. It is essential then to be very wary when it comes to our
sexual activities.
