One of the basic rules in preparing a
healthy meal is to include Go, Grow, Glow foods in your menu. This idea has been taught to us since grade school. It's a wonder why many of us forget about it.
Go foods include your basic carbohydrate sources. They are bread, rice, pasta and mashed potato. They are called Go foods because these foods have sugar that our body converts to energy so we can do our work for the day. Be sure to include at least one serving of Go foods in your diet. Too much of Go foods may make you fat, so be sure to moderate your inclusion of these foods in your meal.
Grow foods are called such because they are the ones responsible for muscle growth and strength. We know how important our muscles are for our bodily functions that is why Grow foods are important part of our diet. We must make sure that we have a serving of meat like pork, beef,
chicken or fish in our meals. Also, we must learn to moderate our intake of such because it can cause several weight problems.
Glow foods are the group of foods that have the least of bad effects in our body, not including the several environmental implications and PETA advocacies. Glow foods are our main source of vitamins. These are fruits and vegetables. They are very good for the body because they keep us healthy and energetic. You can never have too much of vegetables or fruits so eat all you want. This type of food is ideal for those
weight-watchers.
